Break Free From Menopause – Day 4: Q&A

Break Free From Menopause – Day 4: Q&A

Today is our live Q and A and I’ve compiled a bunch of different questions that have come in from many of you in our group and I want to make sure that you get your questions answered, so that you feel empowered to move forward in a really powerful ways. and so that you can take charge of your health and begin to heal and feel fabulous.

One thing that I wanted to share is that quite a few years ago, I went to see the musical, “Menopause,” and I’d love to hear from you if you saw that musical. I went with a girlfriend and I think when we walked in the front door, they gave us all a thing for the hot flashes. I just remember watching the women on stage and they were suffering from depression and hot flashes and night sweats and weight gain. In reality, they were absolutely miserable. But they were making jokes about it because they would go to their doctor and their doctor would give them antidepressants and birth control pills to manage the hot flashes and all these different drugs. The women in the audience were all fanning themselves and the women on stage were laughing and making light of their kind of their miserable situation.

It was a really sad time for me. I think I cried. I didn’t think it was funny at all. I thought it was really sad that we had come to accept these really miserable symptoms as okay. So I left there really discouraged. I really felt like we had kind of an epidemic on our hands relating to women not feeling well and not feeling like they could ask for more. I hope with this series, you feel a bit more empowered about taking charge of your health and really healing those symptoms that aren’t serving you. The hot flashes, the night sweats, the low libido, the low energy, the weight gain, the incontinence – the urinary incontinence, the painful sex, you know, all of those things. Even hair loss and irritability. All those things that just don’t have to be. They’re definitely common, but they are not really normal. We’ve made them normal in our society, but they’re really not. I just want to make sure that you know that you can heal from these symptoms. Let’s breathe into that.

Day one was all about adrenal health and getting our energy back. We took charge of digestion and blood sugar and how to reduce hot flashes and night sweats. Day Two was all about thyroid function and ramping up our metabolism and feeling happier. Day three was all about vaginal health and again, feeling a little bit sexier, getting jucier down there on our pelvic floor. We talked about some of the steps we can take to make that happen. How can we feel more vibrant? In our pelvic area, how can we overcome urinary continence? How can sex be fun again?
